Heating foils

Heating foil based on glass and carbon filaments
Sika Werke GmbH develops and produces infrared panel heating foils on the basis of 24 V, 48 V and 230 V in co-operation with different partners. These heating foils can be installed as wall, ceiling or floor heating systems.

The heating effect is achieved by means of thermal radiation (in the range of long-wave infrared radiation) at low surface temperatures. The infrared radiation in the area of the current-carrying heating foil occurs immediately after switching-on of the system and ceases after switching-off of the system. The connection of the fabricated and cut heating foil to the power supply is carried out by means of safety transformers with a corresponding output voltage. On account of the use of low-voltage technology, there is no electro-magnetic influence on electronic devices in the room which can be attributed to the heating foil.

Currently, we produce three different systems of heating foils:

One version consists of a non-woven carbon fabric contacted with copper conductors and laminated between PET foils and is mainly used in the low-voltage sector. The second version consists of a glass fibre fabric with carbon threads woven into it. This heating fabric is laminated with a three-layer insulation foil and fulfils the fire test as per ISO 9772. A third version is based on printed conductors printed with carbon varnish.

We will provide the names of our co-operation and fabrication partners to you upon a request to that end depending on the specific case of application.
